Christophe Patrice took over the Chablis winery in the village of Beine, which is only five hectares in size, from his parents. In 2011 he bought the Domaine Daniel Roblot, so that 22 hectares of vines are now in production. Together with his wife, he then founded the Caves Gendraud-Patrice, as the winery is now officially called.
Christophe Patrice is in the fortunate position that his Chardonnay vines have a remarkably high average age of around 45 years. This gives even the Chablis Village wines a beautiful depth and complexity. The 2022 Chablis from Christophe Patrice has good tension on the palate, is clear and mineral, as is typical for a Chablis. The aromas of this wine are reminiscent of apples and citrus fruits, and it also shows subtle notes of herbs and flint. An elegant and refined Chardonnay from the cool of northern Burgundy, which delights with its salty minerality.
Christophe recommends storing his mineral and crystal-clear Chablis for a maximum of 3 to 5 years, depending on the vintage.
