The dry estate Riesling from the H. Dönnhoff winery is always one of the best wines in its category. It has a lively character and crystal-clear Riesling fruit, aromatically reminiscent of citrus fruits, apples and peaches. The 2023 vintage, which was once again warm, had less drought stress than its predecessor, so the grapes ripened even better and the wines have a wonderful balance.
The Dönnhoff Dry Riesling is the winery's calling card. This shows all the skills of the Dönnhoff family, extract, acidity and fruit are in perfect harmony in this delicious estate wine. The grapes for this very typical Nahe Riesling come mainly from vineyards in the town of Oberhausen and grow on different soil formations, such as porphyr, slate and quartzite. This Riesling is matured in a mix of steel tanks and large wooden barrels (fuders).
