The Georg Gustav Huff winery has two Rieslings from the top Hipping location in its program. This one is the "normal" version, then there is also a separate bottling of the oldest plots. This location is located on the so-called Red Hang or Rhine Front in Rheinhessen, where red, mineral slate soils characterize the picture. Some of the best wines in the region are produced here.
The first thing that surprises you is the price. It's not every day that you can find a Hipping for less than €12 a bottle. The aging takes place at the Huff winery in steel tanks and traditional large wooden barrels.
With its flattering style, the Hipping Riesling dry 2022 is a typical representative of the winery style and the warm vintage. The scent is pleasing with its juicy peach note, underlined with fine herbs and citrus fruits. On the palate it is just as juicy and with good extract in the quite long finish. This is certainly not the biggest hipping of all time, but at this price it is a real buy tip.
