The 17 Valley series from Mount Riley is reserved for selected grapes from the best locations. The Sauvignon Blanc 17 Valley comes from the Cromarty vineyard. The grapes are picked here by hand and then fermented and aged in barriques. The wine remains there on the lees for eight months to gain stability and complexity. No cultured yeasts are added; fermentation takes place spontaneously.
The price seems very fair for this artisanal preparation method. Here you get an exotic Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, which is excellent with the wood spiciness.
