The Passa Tinto is a beautiful, smooth, dry red wine for every day, which shows the skill and passion of the people at Quinta do Noval. Quinta do Passadouro is the company's second winery in the DOC Douro. The vines here grow on terraces on slate soils, which gives them an individual character.
The Passa Tinto consists of the region's traditional grape varieties, the blend is 35% Touriga Francesa, 30% Tinta Roriz, 15% Tinta Barroca, 10% Touriga Nacional and 10% Tinto Cão. It is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel, then it is allowed to age in French barriques for around 11 months, where it is given additional polish.
The Passa from Quinta do Passadouro has a bright ruby red color. Its open scent is reminiscent of ripe berries, a delicate floral component, cocoa and vanilla notes. On the palate it impresses with its balance, but the wine is still fresh and is simply a lot of fun to drink.
Culinarily it is an all-rounder, pasta, burgers, pizza, grilled food, poultry and all types of meat are suitable partners for this charming Portuguese wine.
